Pike Fishing      Fishing is a popular pastime      Tench Fishing

The Cotswold Water Park is now Britain’s largest Water Park with over 130 lakes. Already it is 50% larger than the Norfolk Broads and is still growing. The Water Park is a unique place and a stunning place to observe birds throughout the year. During the winter over 20000 waterfowl - some 40 different species - reside in the Water Park. During the spring and summer the scene is continually changing as numerous birds nest on the lakes and others visit on passage. As well as birds, dragonflies and damsel flies abound around the shores on warm sunny days.

There are several nature reserves within the Water Park and guided wildlife walks are organised throughout the year.

Walking and Cycling

There are many waymarked footpaths and cycle paths with cycles available to hire at Keynes Country Park just over a mile away. Cotswold Willow Pool is only a quarter of a mile from the Thames Path and keen walkers may like to trace the river back to its source at Thames Head with its statue of Father Thames.

Fishing

With so much water it is hardly surprising that the water park has become popular with fishermen. Many lakes are devoted to fishing. Excellent fishing is available through two local angling clubs and annual and holiday membership is very reasonable. Fly fishing is also available about half a mile away.
